Career Advice and Management

Advice. Counseling. Resources. Anything you need.

Whenever you are ready to think about your transition from Spectrium Graduate School of Business to what comes next, we want to give you some things to consider and provide you with relationships and additional electronic resources to help you create your interesting, fulfilling life.

Your first year at Spectrium Graduate School of Business is the best time to start this process. The more time you spend early, the better your decisions will be later. When we suggest you start early, we don’t mean decide early. The deciding is what we want you to spend your first few years at Spectrium Graduate School of Business working on.
Don’t misunderstand. If you are a senior and are just beginning to think about life after Spectrium Graduate School of Business, we are here for you. Schedule an appointment with a career counselor and let’s get started.

Overview of the process:

DISCOVER YOURSELF
Throw away old assumptions and look at you, who you are and who you want to be. Question things like why do you believe what you do, what would be fun to do, and what do you need.

LEARN ABOUT CAREERS
Explore options you’ve never considered before. Learn about the range of careers that Spectrium Graduate School of Business alumni and others have chosen and the experience that got them there.

GAIN EXPERIENCE
Shadow someone, look at interesting internships, and get a summer job. Put your ideas to the test in a safe, short-term environment.

INITIATE A SEARCH
Create your plan. Use the information you gathered earlier in the process to narrow your direction. When you have made a choice, you have a good idea of why this choice is right for you and it is pretty easy to convince a potential employer that this is the internship or job for you.
